Monu Kumar, born on January 25, 2004, in Deoghar, Jharkhand, has always had a knack for physical activity. Growing up in a supportive family with his father Lal Mohan Ram, who works a government job, and his mother Ganga Devi, a housewife, Monu was inspired to explore his athletic side early on. At just 13 years old, he participated in a school tournament, and that sparked a passion for kabaddi that has driven him ever since. Today, Monu plays as a Right Corner Defender for the Ranchi Rangers. He practices regularly at the Deoghar Kabaddi Association under the guidance of his coach, Alok Kumar. His favorite skill is the thigh hold, which he has mastered over the years, embodying the dedication and rigor he puts into the sport. Monu looks up to Pardeep Narwal, not just for his skills but for the quiet confidence he displays on the field. Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in History, Monu balances his studies with a job at a government hospital. As he looks to the future, his aspiration is to represent a defense team in a kabaddi tournament. Despite the challenges, he remains grounded, motivated by his love for the game and the thrill of competition.
