Shashikant Dhas

Dhas Shashikant Dhanyakumar, born on October 1, 2004, in Ashti, Beed, Maharashtra, comes from a farming background, with his parents Dhanyakumar and Jijabai providing steadfast support. Currently residing in Jamgaon, Beed, where his family resides, Dhas started his kabaddi journey at the age of 12, drawn to the sport by watching other kids play in his school. As a Right Cover Defender, Dhas excels in the art of the Chain Tackle, displaying remarkable skill and determination on the kabaddi mat. Under the guidance of coaches Kailash Jagdale, Anil Jagdale, and Ketan Gaikwad at the Dhasdada Sport Academy in Ashti, Beed, Dhas hones his abilities and refines his techniques. Dhas's admiration for kabaddi player Vaibhav Garje, who represents the Bengal Warriors in the Pro Kabaddi League, stems from childhood, inspiring him to aspire for greatness in the sport. Dhas has showcased his talent in various competitions, including securing the 3rd place at the 17th state championship held at ND Vidyalaya, Jamgaon, in 2020. His participation in the School Nationals in 2022-23 further highlights his promising career. Despite his focus on kabaddi, Dhas harbors a fondness for wrestling, showcasing his versatility in the realm of sports. Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Science, Dhas's aspirations include representing India in kabaddi and making a mark in the Pro Kabaddi League. With his dedication, skill, and unwavering determination, Dhas aims to carve a successful career in kabaddi, fueled by his passion for the sport and the dream of donning the national colors on the international stage.
